Although we do have a few snare drums in inventory, the majority of our business is custom build-to-spec shells and snare drums. Due to the demand for our shells, we normally quote 4 to 8 weeks for delivery. The Process Our shells range from 4x13 to 7x13 and 4x14 to 7x14. They are steam bent by hand and made with the highest quality hardwoods available. Our shells are 5/16" in thickness and carry a 5 year warranty. We use a specially developed glue that creates the strongest bond possible which enhances the shell resonance. Our shells are perfectly round and are judged to a less than 1/16" tolerance. The Wood Maple, Birch, Walnut, Cherry, Oak, Hickory or Mahogany with matching reinforcement hoops. The Hoops Diecast or Triple Flange The Hardware We have many options available for hardware. Our standard setup includes quality tube lugs with a Nickel throw-off. Drum Rework If you have a vintage snare drum with a damaged shell, send it to Payne Percussion.
